The Statewide Wellbeing strategy has been developed by a cross-government taskforce, led by Minister David Speirs.
The taskforce includes representatives from Wellbeing SA, SA Health, Department for Environment and Water, the Office of Recreation and Sport and Arts SA.
The strategy aims to build community resilience and support physical, social, mental and community wellbeing in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
The priority focus areas cover aspects of mental, physical, social and community wellbeing:
- Promoting the opportunities and benefits of sport and physical activity
- Creating connection through arts and culture
- Encouraging use of green spaces in recognition of the health, wellbeing and environmental benefits
- Supporting learning and skill development.
The Strategy is designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of all South Australians.
Wellbeing SA is the agency leading the implementation of the strategies.
